Mojo need mojo!

*Firstly, this was supposed to be posted last night but due to the earth shaking beneath my feet, well, let’s just say I got slightly distracted :D

That title sounds like something from “Waybuloo”. Yes. That is an actual kids program. With “chilbees“. Slightly disturbing. Anyways, moving on………

You may well have noticed that up until recently I have been off with the fairies. Or at least, wishing I was. It’s been a case of one foot in front of the other for my little family and I must say, I am verrrrrry grateful to an amazing and precious group of friends who have been with us on our “Upsy Daisy” journey (yes, yet another reference from a child’s program. Seriously! What are they watching these days?!) I have been completely blessed by the support, love and more support that these amazing people have showered myself and my precious husband and princesses with, even in the stamping world. Forgetting the business side of Stampin’ Up! for a minute, if it weren’t for this business I would not have met such adorable people who I have been able to turn to in the midst of well, to borrow the phrase from a dear mentor of mine, “Poo on toast.”

Do you remember my “Stampin’ Mug Mojo”? Well, it stopped working!!! *eeeep!* My papercraft mojo took a massive hit during our blah-blaaaaaah time and so I went for a considerable amount of time without barely lifting a stamp. If it weren’t for an order of birthday invites, there would’ve been complete nada happenin’ at my little craft abodey cornery type place. On the upside, my corner stayed very clean for a very long time. However, I am relieved to say that all hope is not lost and I am not about to cover my craft abodey cornery type place with a white sheet just yet :D

My "Table-in-waiting"

Oh and I took this photo because I forgot to take this particular one when I first blogged about my stamping space

So what saved this inviting stamping space from being completely draped in white??

My beautiful friend and craft inspirer Jules just happened to mention that they were selling their dining table. “Relevance?” I hear you ask? I have shared many a meal, cuppa and craft time with my long time friend at this table. I also know that Jules has spent even many more hours of her own craft time at this table. So naturally, desperate times call for desperate measures ;) I was seeking excess mojo! LOL!!! *snort chortle*

Actuuuuuually, I really love country style and was wanting to replace our modern table one day for a more country feel one. Jules’ table is such a beautiful table, not to mention so much space for extra spreading of craft wares so when it went up for sale, I just had to have it! The part I love the most though is knowing that I own a table that already holds precious memories…….and don’t they say that a change is as good as a holiday??

Isn't it just gorgeous?

'Old' Mojo hangin' with 'New' Mojo

So here’s hoping, short of sleeping on the table, that some of Jules’ amazing creativeness rubs off on me and I shall continue blogging for a loooong time yet *giggles*

Oh and before I go I just had to show you this……….

That’s what I want my world to be about :D

Thanks for reading!

Ju *hugs*

*if you weren’t aware on Friday, April 16th @ 11.27pm, Adelaide experienced an earth tremor that measured 3.8 – I was sitting at my craft desk attempting to blog at the time and well, it kinda got my attention :D

Ok so remember absolutely aaaaaages ago I showed you that gorgeous set of drawers from my friend IKEA? I also mentioned that I had chosen my desk and shelves that were to come in the next couple of weeks. Ok. So it’s been a few more than a couple :D Way back when, I also took some ‘before’ shots but refused to post them until I had the ‘after’ ones. Nothing worse than having you visit and my room always being messy, lol. Well, IKEA’s lovely delivery people have come and gone as we didn’t feel like travelling from Gawler to Adelaide Airport again, hehe. The first time was a lovely day out for Dave & I as we were child free (bless Dave’s gorgeous mum *hugs!*) and we were able to soak up all that is IKEA. Oh please don’t misunderstand! I looooove my girls to bits ‘n’ pieces! I just know that they would not have been happy staying in the play room and then they would get bored out of their cute little brains after the first 5 minutes of walking with mum and dad. Ugh, parents can be soooo boring sometimes, LOL!!

So! In a nutshell, a rather large one at that ;) …….the after pics have finally been taken!! Complete yayness!! And what’s more is that I can show you…….it’s tidy!!! :D

But let me show you first how ‘not tidy’ it once was *blush*………

Hmmm, yes well then *blushing again* I must admit to just having a very busy week preparing for the Gawler Soccer Club’s mini expo, hehe. The way I tidy too is that I plonk all my mess in one spot and work from there as, oh yes, this mess had trickled out onto my dinner table somewhat, lol. So ok, lets move on from that which is chaos to the funness and bliss of organised heaven…….no seriously, let’s move on now :D

Welcome to my organised world!!!!! *squeee!!*

Slightly different no? Yippee!!

Slightly different no? Yippee!!

I absolutely adore the shelving unit on the end! One of the things that I love about my creative spot is that it is so compact…….for now, and it doesn’t take up much space……..for now, hehe. The desk clips onto the shelves half way up, how great is that? The funny thing about this little set-up is that Dave saw it all first and was just as excited as I was. Here’s a closer look……

IKEA think of everything (don’t they Liz?! hehe) The big boxes are fantastic for safe storage (did I say that I have 2 little ones?) I have some of my 3D projects in one and my spare cardstock offcuts in the other. Great to have open beside me when doing a project a I used to forget to go to these spare bits and start on a new piece of cardstock……much to the horror of my gorgeous team member, Mandy :D I have learnt the error of my ways Mandy!! Hehe. It’s great coz if you find that one big box is too much, 4 smaller boxes, all matching of course, fit into one cube together! These smaller boxes house my sample cards, cards from others and my accessories and ribbons. The ribbon reels sit up perfectly in these boxes, yay! Then there’s the magazine holders which have a multiple of resources: scrapbooking and cardmaking magazines, home style magazines…..IKEA catalogues :D Here’s the view from the front….

As you can see my stamps sit perfectly in the cubes…..although wandering little fingers do like to nudge them forward from the otherside, lol. The magazine file holds my catalogues, past and present, all great for inspiration. It also holds my “Stampin’ Supplies” for both the main and mini catalogue – again another fantastic resource when a project in the catalogues inspire me and I want to know details about that project. There are also Stampin’ Up!’s Impression magazines which I receive monthly – these are exclusively available to demonstrators only and are a wealth of information as well as inspiration. Always great to flick through, especially when creative mojo takes a wander! I also have a couple of sketching notebooks to jot my ideas down as I think of them. Always great if I don’t have much time to make what I’m thinking, I know I can always come back to it. I was inspired by Andrea Walford, a Canadian Demo, to have a little caddy of sorts on hand. The little wicker basket holds my Stampin Scrub™ and Mist, Mist Refill, Crystal Effects™ and ruler, things that I need regularly when nestled into my little nook.

Oh and yes that frame holds photos of my beautiful sister and I, a very precious Christmas gift from her last Christmas. You may be able to tell that when we get together we get a little nutty, teehee.

Now how cute is that little door? Behind it are my ink pads and ink spots. Yeah not sure why I didn’t open it and take a photo, lol. You can also get a 2 drawer system for the cube but I figured I had enough drawers……

jujybean-24

Aahhhh, there they are *happy sigh* Gorgeous aren’t they??

The drawers really are the perfect size for so many things. I have a Business Drawer, a Punch Drawer, a Roller Wheel Drawer, an Adhesive & Embossing stuff Drawer, a Tools Drawer – my Heat Tool, Stamp-a-ma-jig and Powder Pals™ trays fit perfectly in one of the deeper drawers, a Colour  Drawer – this houses my Stampin Pastels, Watercolour Pencils, Sponge Daubers, Spnges, Blender Pens & Aqua Pens, a Spare Paper Drawer (I haven’t directed my girls to this drawer as I know I’d always be out of scratch paper for stamping, lol) a Spare Parts Drawer – Lol! This is the drawer that has all my smaller offcuts of cardstock, DSP and stamped images that haven’t made it to a project yet :D and a Non-SU Drawer for all those craft bits n bobs that my girls just loooove to stick on anything! The purple boxes on top have MY non-SU things that are just for mummy, hehe and my Beyond the Page projects reminding me to not forget them and do them one day.

You can probably see the tub underneath – this houses my spare catalogues, folders for workshops, Hostess packs, order bags and my own workshop packing bags. I am making sure that I always have stock on hand so that when a workshop or class comes around I am not madly scrambling to put packs and folders together. Makes for a far more relaxed me :D

jujybean-26

So this is where it now all happens. Oh can you pick the continuity error? Lol! Yes there’s a waste paper basket in this pic but I had a last minute thought to pop it in as 1) it shows that perhaps I do do some crafting seeing as there is rubbish in there, lol and 2) it matches!! Yes, I had to have a bin but it had to be white and not one that needed a bin liner, yuck. So lovely white mesh, from IKEA, it was.

So that’s my space……..for now! Haha! I can see how this space may become small one day but for now it suits me to a tee and as everything has a home to go to at the end of the day I am finding it very easy to keep tidy. Big Bonus!! I purposely went for a smaller working space for this very reason – it forces me to clean up after every project so I have the room for the next. So when I post a project, you’ll know exactly where it was made, haha.

Thanks for visiting! See you soon!

Love Julie *hugs*
