Couldn’t help myself

…..hehehe!

Remember my mother’s day card, the labour of love that I swore I’d never do again?? Lol! Well here is another card that I found myself having a lovely ol’ cutting out session with! This was my achievement for our craft night! Lol!

After rollering the houses in the mothers day card I found myself trying to think what stamp and DSP to match together next! This set, “Loads of Love” is such a cute and fun set to play with as it comes with accessories like the flowers.

The truck, it’s trailer, the flowers and the word description are all mounted on 3D foam for a bit of added dimension. I must say that I feel thankful for the technique of stamping! As you can see I hand drew the ‘wooden post’ for the sign, lol! Anyways……..

So yes, I’ve layered the cardstock to create both the truck and its trailer. The trailer is actually just the back half of the truck stamped. I then drew a line down the middle of the truck (with a ruler this time, hehe) using the Chocolate Chip marker (as I stamped the truck using Chocolate Chip ink) and then used this line as my outline to cut down. I stamped the truck in chocolate chip on to Whisper White so I could cut the window out; stamped the front of the truck onto Summer Sun so I could cut the headlight out; stamped the wheels in Whisper White ink and then stamped the hub caps and the front and back bumper bars using Basic Black ink onto Basic Grey c/s (thanks Jules for your offcuts!)

Oh and I stamped the flowers separately (with Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White) to also cut them out and mount them so they look like they are sitting in the trailer :) (they are coloured using the Stampin’ Pastels) Of course I didn’t want the truck to look like it was flying so just with my blender pen and Chocolate Chip pastel chalk I brushed in some ‘dirt’…….have I said how much I love stamping?! :D

Eight already!

I cannot believe that my friend Jules now has an 8 year old daughter!! (neither can she no doubt, lol!) What spins my brain out even more is how clear my first visit to the hospital to meet this teeny tiny premature baby still is in my mind. Now she’s 8!!!! Eeep! I had to make her card sparkle as this gorgeous not so little girl is all sparkles!!

When I saw the “A Kind Word” stamp set with the two little girls, it reminded me so much of my own two little cherubs that I just had to have it! However, when umming and ahhing over what card to make for Miss 8, this particular little girl from the set also made me think of her.

I’ve found myself really enjoying water colouring with chalks again and this set is one of those perfect sets for such a thing. It really is rather relaxing! I also love the dazzling diamonds on the flowers as it finishes them off in such a pretty way. Plus every little (oops, not so little) girl needs a bit of bling, hehe.

But wait! There’s more!

It is crazy how there are 12 months in a year and yet so many birthdays fall in just a few months! I recently had the opportunity to make a card for two three year olds… a boy and a girl. Would you believe it?! They both had their parties on the same day! We ended up scooting past the little boy’s house to drop his present off before the little girls party…..the little girl just happens to be my niece so off the cousins went for one very active afternoon bouncing their little hearts out on the jumping castle (we all slept very well that night! Aaaand Yes! I had a jump! What!? A jumping castle and me not go on it!? Unheard of!! Hehe)

A birthday Wish to my man

Last Updated on Tuesday, 9 June 2009 08:53 Written by Ju Tuesday, 19 May 2009 10:57

Of course my husband needed a birthday card!! (which I was running slightly behind on so he didn’t get it on his birthday but at the party *blush*)

I had a bit of fun with this one too as I was itching to try out my new Neighbourhood Roller Wheel!

I find I tend to be a bit of a cutter-outer-er :) as you can see I’ve trimmed inbetween the houses from the roller wheel. The “Neighbourhood” jumbo roller wheel co-ordinates scrumptiously with the “All in the Family” stamp set…..that combo is on its way in a future post!

I love the “Life Definitions” stamp set with all the different, well, definitions of various words. I chose to use the “Wish” stamp for my husband’s card:

Wish – Heart’s desire; to dream of; reach for; aspire to. To want. “Wish upon a star”.”

Yes soppy but truly! My birthday wish for him is that no dream is left unattended and no desire left unfulfilled *happy sigh*
