In my thoughts…..

I made this for a beautiful family I know who have recently been thrown a bit of a curve ball moment…..

I love this butterfly set, “Butterfly Prints” from the current Summer Mini Catalogue as a part from the three beautiful butterfly designs included in the set (as well as a cuuute little body stamp, hehe), it is so amazingly simple to stamp and cut out using the co-ordinating Butterfly Punch, also from the current Summer Mini Catalogue (you can click on the mini catalogue in my side bar to download your own copy – these products are only available until March 31st)
For the background I was after a gradient effect with colours so began by inking the Weathered Background stamp with Versamark. This was going to give a more watermark effect. Next I used the Baroque swirl from the Baroque Motifs stamp set and inked it with Lovely Lilac (matching the card stock) and stamped in the diagonal corners of the card. This allowed the swirl to be a bit more ‘forward’ in the image…….well, that could just be me
Oh yes and for the butterfly, instead of just one, I stamped two and then layered them for a little bit more ‘Pop!’

Hi Julie – OH MY GOODNESS, how rude am I? I keep looking at that card (sitting on my shelf above my scrapbooking desk) and keep thinking, “I must email Ju and say a big thanks for the lovely card” and then I forget
And everytime I chat to you on Facebook – I still forget
Sorry, but a big, belated thanks for the lovely thought – it was so thoughtful of you XOOX
Plus – I just LOVE the little easel that you have for setting your card on and taking photos… will have to get myself one of those…
