What to do when 50 girls get together…….

CRAFT OF COURSE!!!!
At the beautiful little school my eldest goes to in Gawler, they have a “Girl’s Night Out” once a term. Such a precious way for mum’s & daughters to spend some deliberate time together as we all well know that life can get so hectic it feels like time can get away from us. (They also have a “Boys Night Out” for dads & sons – fantastic!) Well my daughter’s teacher asked a couple of us “Crafty Mums” if we’d mind putting together a craft time for the mums and daughters. Well we did it! WOOT WOOT!! From 6 – 7.30pm we managed to feed just over 50 girls (Annette & Mrs. Roberts are amazing!!) and help each of the 50 girls create THREE different projects *phew* It was so fun working with Ali & Adele *waves* to give the mums and their daughters a fun, creative time. To see the looks on some of their faces when they realised the creations the held at the end of the night, THEY had created them!
Here’s what they had a chance to create when they reached my station……..(minus the bag contents, lol – sorry girls!)
With my NEW TOY (hehe) the girls got to make this bag topper using Stampin’ Up!’s Top Note Die. I had already pre-cut everyone’s Little Leaves.
The flower was created so simply by layering three Scallop Circles and giving them each a little “squidge”……Yes. That was the actual term I used when describing what to do with them!
squidge v to squash; to crumple; to crease;
They were held together with a Clear Rhinestone Brad and then stuck to the bag topper by using double sided tape. As the leaves are so delicate, we stuck them down first with SNAIL Adhesive™. The SNAIL was put onto the bag topper first and the leaves layed over the top of the adhesive. The flower was then stuck down on top of the leaves. In the bottom left corner they stamped “Just for You”, just one of 24 sentiments in the stamp set “Teeny Tiny Sentiments” available in our current Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue ~ click here to view and go to page 26. This set is great as it covers pretty much ANY and EVERY occasion you could think of!
At the end of the night, there of course was a Door Prize!! We loooove door prizes!! Ali, Adele and myself all added something to the prize. Being a girls do, I wanted to do something girly and thanks to US demo, Barbara Jackson, I was able to create this…..
Isn’t this just the cutest handbag you’ve ever seen??? *Thanks Barbara for the idea!!*
For the inside of the bag I created a thin rectangle box. The grosgrain ribbon handle has been threaded through some jumbo eyelets and then knotted off inside the handbag to hold the handle on. To seal the bag I’ve used a velcro dot……..
…..to hold in the all important TEA!!
It was such a great night and I hope all that went had a gorgeous time and learnt another tip or ten for their next creative project!

Thanks for looking!

Kicking Mojo in the pants together!
Last Updated on Monday, 26 April 2010 04:36 Written by Ju Monday, 26 April 2010 04:36
I’ve been talking about mojo a bit lately as sometimes I really can’t tell whether it’s coming or going! You know that feeling? I’m sure you do! It’s like when you lack sleep and even though your eyes are open and your body is moving, well, that’s about it. If you checked my brain on occasion, you’d find that the reception in the creative area would be purely static. This is where the internet comes into it’s own. I absolutely LOVE that creative gorgeouses use it to record their crafting journey and exploits. The creative community is so wonderful in the way that ideas are shared, tips and hints discussed and absolutely beautiful projects are put on display for endless inspiration. There are so many sites that I love to visit everyday and one of these belongs to a fellow demonstrator, even though she is in a completely different country, lol. Mary Fish has a knack for creating simple, yet effective and punchy creations …. and I am such a simple girl
Here is a creation that I CASE-ed from Mary (Create And Share Everything) – you can see Mary’s version here
I altered a few things here and there. For example, I do not have the Small Oval Punch so took my Large Oval Punch and trimmed the inner petals down further so they weren’t the same length as the outside petals. I also didn’t sponge the outside of the petals like Mary had done to hers. I just love this idea using the Sweet Treat Cups! I have a couple more projects using these cups. They’re just so different….. and I like different
This card really was a simple one to put together, thanks Mary! *hugs*
Thank you for stopping by and having a gander *hugs* but before I go, as I feel like I’m learning a few things regarding the elusive mojo, I thought I’d share these thoughts with you to perhaps give you a chance to…..
Kick your Mojo in the Pants!
Do you find your mojo takes a break without notice? Can’t just be me, suuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrely?!
Well firstly, the Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalogue is a great source for ideas as projects are featured through out this product book. (You can download a copy here or contact me here to order your copy for only $12.95 + $5.95 p/h delivered to you anywhere in Australia.) And if you don’t already have the Free Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue and are not already supplied by a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, contact me and I will post a mini catalogue out to you along with a Stampin’ Up! Technique booklet for free (The Technique Booklet is available only while stocks last)
• When stuck for ideas, have a look around! Internet, magazines…..you’ll be amazed at what you will see and then don’t be bashful, give something a go! No one need know if it doesn’t work first time round, or second, third or fourth for that matter!
There was once a man by the name of Thomas Edison……Whilst he didn’t “invent” the lightbulb but rather he “improved” on a 50 year old idea. I’m just grateful that he didn’t stop working on his improvements after the first few attempts. It’s because of him that I can craft on into the night *hugs to you Mr E!*
Ok so while that’s a rather extreme example of not giving up, it’s the principle isn’t it? *LOL!!* I certainly have a box/pile for the: “Gah! Gordon Bennett! That’s never seeing the light of day again!” projects that don’t pass quality control! Yet, it’s a beautiful thing when something does come together!
• When looking at a project, if you find you don’t have all the supplies used in that particular project, don’t dismiss it, be resourceful! Look at what you do have – stamps, papers, embellishments, punches etc and tweek the project here and there to make it work. It’s a fun challenge and in the end you are left with something that is uniquely yours, even if the inspiration began on a blog or in a magazine.
Want some more tips and techniques?

Do these thoughts help?????
Do you have any further ideas or suggestions??????
I’d love it if you left pearls of wisdom in the comments section of this post! It could be so simple but something that others hadn’t thought of. Don’t be shy
Thanks for stopping by!!
Ju *hugs*

Mojo need mojo!
Last Updated on Saturday, 17 April 2010 10:39 Written by Ju Saturday, 17 April 2010 10:39
*Firstly, this was supposed to be posted last night but due to the earth shaking beneath my feet, well, let’s just say I got slightly distracted
That title sounds like something from “Waybuloo”. Yes. That is an actual kids program. With “chilbees“. Slightly disturbing. Anyways, moving on………
You may well have noticed that up until recently I have been off with the fairies. Or at least, wishing I was. It’s been a case of one foot in front of the other for my little family and I must say, I am verrrrrry grateful to an amazing and precious group of friends who have been with us on our “Upsy Daisy” journey (yes, yet another reference from a child’s program. Seriously! What are they watching these days?!) I have been completely blessed by the support, love and more support that these amazing people have showered myself and my precious husband and princesses with, even in the stamping world. Forgetting the business side of Stampin’ Up! for a minute, if it weren’t for this business I would not have met such adorable people who I have been able to turn to in the midst of well, to borrow the phrase from a dear mentor of mine, “Poo on toast.”
Do you remember my “Stampin’ Mug Mojo”? Well, it stopped working!!! *eeeep!* My papercraft mojo took a massive hit during our blah-blaaaaaah time and so I went for a considerable amount of time without barely lifting a stamp. If it weren’t for an order of birthday invites, there would’ve been complete nada happenin’ at my little craft abodey cornery type place. On the upside, my corner stayed very clean for a very long time. However, I am relieved to say that all hope is not lost and I am not about to cover my craft abodey cornery type place with a white sheet just yet

Oh and I took this photo because I forgot to take this particular one when I first blogged about my stamping space
So what saved this inviting stamping space from being completely draped in white??
My beautiful friend and craft inspirer Jules just happened to mention that they were selling their dining table. “Relevance?” I hear you ask? I have shared many a meal, cuppa and craft time with my long time friend at this table. I also know that Jules has spent even many more hours of her own craft time at this table. So naturally, desperate times call for desperate measures
I was seeking excess mojo! LOL!!! *snort chortle*
Actuuuuuually, I really love country style and was wanting to replace our modern table one day for a more country feel one. Jules’ table is such a beautiful table, not to mention so much space for extra spreading of craft wares so when it went up for sale, I just had to have it! The part I love the most though is knowing that I own a table that already holds precious memories…….and don’t they say that a change is as good as a holiday??
So here’s hoping, short of sleeping on the table, that some of Jules’ amazing creativeness rubs off on me and I shall continue blogging for a loooong time yet *giggles*
Oh and before I go I just had to show you this……….
That’s what I want my world to be about
Thanks for reading!
Ju *hugs*
*if you weren’t aware on Friday, April 16th @ 11.27pm, Adelaide experienced an earth tremor that measured 3.8 – I was sitting at my craft desk attempting to blog at the time and well, it kinda got my attention
Despite the poo…..

*giggles* Interesting title no?
Ok so I know that this is a very late reveal of a card ….. but I promise, I have so many more late reveals up my sleeve, a sleeve the size of a snuggie type sleeve, lol.
Around Valentines Day things were rather hectic and crazy with illnesses and the like with our little ones. I know sharing is a great lesson to teach but really, this was taking it wayeeeeeeee too far. So much so that when February 14 literally knocked on my door, I simply had no romantic inclination for a card for my dearly beloved *gasp shock* I know!! Terrible wifey!!
I really do love my husband to bits ‘n’ pieces and really REALLY wanted to make him a card, yet my inspiration had completely gone to custard. It’s here that I am thankful for gorgeous, witty, heck even slightly quirky friends.
I have a gorgeous friend who is one of those people that no matter what she does, she does it amazingly. Her creativity is amazing! From cakes to scrapbooking, to even how she decorates her home with renovated furniture (yes, that SHE has renovated!!), it’s like she has the Midas touch. Well, this beautiful friend also has a special way to make her own friends feel completely loved and it’s because I consider myself quirky, nutty even
that I completely get it when my beautiful friend ‘loves’ on me……..just look at what my hubby & I received on a night out with our precious friend…..

How cuuuute are they?!?!?!?! My husband received the bottom painting (Yes! They are also hand painted!! Created during a home painting session with her own children) and yep, I got the top one!! HOW FUNNY IS IT?!?!?! It made me laugh so much!! *hugs Liz* They were simply too cute to hide away so I framed the pictures and now they sit on my craft desk. It was the top picture that inspired my Valentine’s card to my husband and thankfully, after being married for sooooo long, he knows that his wife also has a tendency for the quirky, sometimes not well timed, but quirky all the same

*chortle snort* This card still makes me laugh!
(but apparently, so do most of my own jokes, lol)
I stamped the top of the cupcake from Big Bold Birthday to get a template to trace around to get the shape of my, err, poos as I am just not a good artist at all (hence my tendency to stamp). I’ve then sponged around the edges of ‘them’ and then for the front one, inspired by Liz’s own characters, I’ve created a poo with personality with ruby red cheeks. Gotta love the Stamp-a-ma-jig too for quick and easy stamping of the words too!
So I guess you’re wondering what my husband’s thoughts/reaction was? How do I put into words an expression that is amused with a twist of, “You really are odd aren’t you?” yet said with oodles of True Love
