Ok, well, haven’t been around for a few days……been slightly pre-occupied with a new form of creativity *giggles* There’s so much potential for it to really go off with a *BANG!!*
I am just SO EXCITED! Two gorgeous gals, Peta & Jacqui, have given me an amazing opportunity to pander to my nutty side
Through their fab business FACE THE ART, they began by offering absolutely amazing face painting – seriously you should see their designs! Over time they have been expanding what they offer to individuals and corporate events around Adelaide. One of these expansions comes in the form of a Children’s Themed Party Host……………..can you see where I’m going with this?? It was so funny ~ they know I love acting and I do love entertaining *gasp! really? lol!* So I was absolutely THRILLED when they asked if I would be interested in joining their team! WOOT WOOT!!!!
So, what’s been keeping me so pre-occupied? Well firstly, my pirate accent needed brushing up on, lol, and secondly, with this new venture comes a new skill to be learnt…….Balloon Art!!
Now is probably a good time to share my phobia for popping balloons……….nothing like facing your phobias head on is there???? And seeing as I was to be a pirate *arrrrgh*, my pirate apprentices needed a sword! I could do it in my sleep NOW but oh my goodness! You should’ve seen the hub-bub I went through to do my first few balloon twists
But! Thankfully, I got there in the end…….
So funny that this simple sword design caused me to much anxst! Not to mention this one……
Now I’m having LOTS AND LOTS more fun with it and playing around and increasing my Balloon Art Repertoire
The funny part too is if I struggle with a new twist I just hand it to my husband *lol* He is all bravado like and doesn’t care if the thing goes BANG in his face – that way he is a complete hero when he successfully twists a design with no carnage. Nawwwww, he really would test a mine field for me!
I will post some cards soon….right after I clear the 1000′s of practice balloons away from my desk ~ which my children are absolutely loving!!
If you’re around Adelaide and would like to know more about what FACE THE ART can offer you and your next party or corporate event, CLICK HERE to learn more.
Thanks for *Popping* by! *chortle*
Ju *hugs*

Birthday Book
I was inspired by Makeesha Byl for this first piece of candy. Everyone seems to have a birthday sometime throughout the year
and I find that it can be a little tricky to try and keep track, particularly as time seems to be flying faster these days (or is that just me?!)
What to do what to do? ………

I have a gorgeous friend who sadly lives far, far away and so we only get to catch up once maybe twice a year. Well this year was a significant one for us both as we both hit the big 3 – oh and even though we couldn’t be there for each other on our birthdays, when my friend let me know she was heading my way recently, well, I was a wee bit excited!!
Now I am fast learning that I am organised in some respects and oh so not organised in others – getting people cards and gifts on time I have noticed is one of my weaknesses *blush* So then, seeing as my friend was heading here a couple of months after her birthday, well I had no excuse but to have a lovely gift waiting for her. She also knows that I am now a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator so bought gifts would heap on my head a load of cheeky jabs from her…..“What? You do this for a living and you couldn’t even make me something???”
It’s alright. We completely get each other! LOL!
I really must learn to take more photos when she is over as we get so busy nattering for hours…..usually into the wee ones……that it just never occurs to me to grab the camera. I realised this when I came up with the idea that I could create a personalised album for my gorgeous besty. It was only then I realised how few photos I had of us! Crazy! Soooo, solution? Leave spaces for her to add her own pics
Thankfully her mum thought to take a piccy this time round! *yay friend’s mum!!*
I am still new to the world of craft beyond the page or card so I can see flaws in what I’ve done but psst, if you don’t tell her then neither will I!

Can you see I even tried my hand at painting?? Lol! *note to self: stick to stamping*

I have used some SU product as well as other craft product from my own private stash but all the background papers are from the previous SU IB&C. I’ve used some paper from both the “Petals and Paisleys” and “Spring Fling” DSP packs (both retired paper stock now) I would like to quickly say a massive thankyou at this point to another gorgeous friend, Jules, for her generosity in giving me the Petals DSP *hugs*

I think this is one of my favourite pages ….. minus the unpainted leaves!! You’d think I’d pick that up (again, noting that one probably should stick to stamping!)
Anywaysies…..I like this layout as it really is so simple – the paper design took away the need to do too much more. I did paint the wooden letters though….my daughters were dying to help, LOL! Must admit, I really like the black gingham bow – looks kinda cute (the ribbon is Stampin’ Up)

As you’ve probably noticed, there’s a bit of bling throughout this project…..which really does suit my friend to a tee! However it is missing on this page……..something I noticed after I took the photo. Rest assured, it was not bling free for long

Image © Jujybean Creations
And of course, finished it off with a bling, I mean, a bang!
Like I said, I can see what I could do different next time but it was fun all the same. Oh and thankyou to my dear daughter for reminding me to actually give it to my friend when she was here! Hahahahaha!!
Back & Blinged!

*ah happy sigh* It’s sure good to be back, YAY!!!
So to kick me off again (sounds like my gyming *giggles*) I thought I’d show you a “Beyond The Page” project I recently had fun playing with. I have a gorgeous friend who had a birthday (I really should just dedicate my blog to birthdays as they seem to happen every second day!!) and well … my friend is staying clear of the creative (she has seen it’s addictive powers, LOL!) BUT!! I hoped I helped her out a little by creating “it” for her – it being a mini album. It’s all blinged and ‘fussed’ with (hehe) so all she needs to do is pop her pics on.
I must confess to cheating a little *blush* as the base was already created for me. Time was scarce and I needed some help and well, when I saw the base I thought it was absolutely gorgeous and I … oh ok … my friend just had to have it!!

With some “love” bling, a corner rounder, Bold Brights c/s and the same colour ink for brushing the c/s edges, I created the “front page”.

Can you tell I had fun with some bling?!?!?
For the insides I used combinations of the 5 Petal Punch, the 1-3/8″ Circle punch, Linen Thread, Circle Fire rhinestone brads, buttons from my own stash, sticky rhinestones (again, own stash) and a the tiny sentiment “Love” from the Bright Delights Rub Ons (on the circle of blush blossom c/s)

I must admit that I had quite a lot of fun doing something un-cardy and so am planning on doing a whole lot more un-cardy-ness…….but don’t worry … I shall never abandon my cards *loves*
